Sending your newsletter via email   PDF  Print  E-mail
If you have already maintain an email newsletter, you may wish to continue sending out emails as part of publishing your online newsletter. Or you may have just started your online newsletter and now wish to start sending out emails in addition to having your updates be online.

How to send new posts via email.
  1. Make a new entry and save it. Once the post has been saved, the screen will refresh and you will be able to edit your post. Alternately, if you want to send out a previous post via email, just choose it to edit it.
  2. Scroll down in your browser until you come to this spot (it’s at the very bottom).

  3. The “Include Entry Body” & “Included Extended Body” checkboxes will be checked by default. To send your entry via email, simply click the “Send” button. Optionally, you can add a message in the text box that will be displayed just in the email.
  4. After clicking the “Send” button, the screen will refresh and there will be a green text message stating “Your email has been sent.”.
To see what the email looks like, click here.

Note: you will need to do this for each post you make. Your email subscribers will never receive a post if you forget to do this. Fortunately, you can come back and do it later if you forget.

How people can subscribe to receive your newsletter automatically (or how you can add them yourself)

In the sidebar of your online newsletter, there is a section titled “Subscribe to -your newsletter name-” that looks like this.

Anyone who reads your newsletter can subscribe to receive your newsletter via email. They can also unsubscribe here as well. You can subscribe and unsubscribe people here as well….just put in their email address.

Alternately, there is a “Notifications” section in the online newsletter administration web site. In the “Notifications” section, you can
  1. view all of your subscribers. When people use the subscription box on your newsletter, they are added to the list displayed here.
  2. You can easily add or delete subscribers in the “Notifications” section.
