Rebuilding (or Why don't my changes show up?)   PDF  Print  E-mail
“Rebuilding” is the process that takes your changes and rebuilds the actual newsletter to reflect those changes. If you make some changes and don’t “rebuild”, your changes will not show up on your newsletter site although you may see them on the administrative side. Sometimes the software automatically rebuilds for you; other times after you make changes it prompts you at the middle top of the screen in green text to rebuild.

Whenever you make a new entry, your newsletter is automatically rebuilt so that your changes are publicly viewable.

However, for most other changes (deleting entries, changing categories), the software will prompt you to initiate the rebuild yourself. It operates this way so that if you make many changes all at once you only have to rebuild once….rather than after each change (which would take much longer).

If you’re ever having problems with changes you’ve made not showing up on your online newsletter, click the “Rebuild Site” button in the left sidebar and choose to “Rebuild All Files”. Once that is done, click the “View Site” button in the sidebar and your newsletter will match any changes that you have made.
